Heatshrink tubing (also known as "heat shrink" or "heat shrink tubing"), a tubing or sleeving with a built in thermal memory, that shrinks in diameter when heat is applied and should stay within set heatshrink data tolerances longitudinally (horizontally) when the correct temperature is applied to the heat shrink tubing/sleeving. As the heatshrink diameter shrinks, the wall thickness does the complete opposite and starts to increase.

Bear in mind that when cutting your heatshrink into lengths, that the cut as to be clean and straight, otherwise the heatshrink tubing might split.

Polyolefin and Zero Halogen heatshrink tubing begins shrinking at +90°C, the same temperature applies to adhesive lined dual wall polyolefin heatshrink tubing, where as PVDF / kynar viton & elastomer heatshrink tubing starts to shrink at +175°C, with PTFE heat shrink tubing will only commence recovery shrinking at temperatures greater than +327°C.
