These Polytetrafluoroethylenes are extremely stable at high temperatures.
PTFE Tubing & Sleeving are a couple of the few polymers that retains a measure of toughness & strength even at cryogenic temperatures. PTFE is virtually inert to all chemicals, solvent resistance - organic solvents do not attack or dissolve.
Polytetrafluoroethylene has an extremely low co-efficient of friction & has excellent non stick properties preventing the build-up of sediments. Weathering of PFTE tubing, sleeving, Spiralwrap, Convoluted conduits are extremely hydrophobic.
PolyTetraFluoroEthylene Tubing & Sleeving could be classed as low smoke zero halogen free ONLY up to +260°C. In actual fact these PTFE tubing & sleeving are non-flammable but sadly are not halogen free above +260°C, however their melt temp (320 to 340°C - DTA), above this temperature and the material will begin combusting. They are UV resistant, Oxygen resistant and are Ozone resistant, but sadly not halogen free. Keep the temp. within +260C and they are haolgen free that is the answer.
