"Heatshrink tubing" (also known as & "heat shrink" or "heat shrink tubing", a tubing or sleeving with a built in thermal memory, that shrinks in diameter when the correct heat is applied and will stay within set heatshrink data sheet tolerances.
We test reels to see if the heat shrink tubing complies with its data sheet. longitudinally (horizontally) when the correct temperature is applied
to the heat shrink tubing/sleeving. If by using a military heatshrink tubing, then tolerances for longitudinal shrinkage are ±5%, if commercial heatshrink tubing is used, longitudinal shrinkage are ±10% or greater. As the heatshrink diameter shrinks, the wall thickness does the complete opposite and starts to increase.
